Detailed Review
It hardly gets any cheaper: You can get these TOOBUR AI glasses for under 90 euros. No display, but they come with a camera, speakers, and AI support. Can this work?At 43g, the glasses are very light and comfortable to wear for my head shape. Setup via the app was quick and easy. The app actually has significantly more to offer than I would have expected at this price point.
The quality of the photos and videos is fine for snapshots. However, competing products like the Rokid AI Glasses are clearly ahead here. The recordings start to get noisy quickly, especially in dark environments. Close-up shots are also difficult, and the stabilization isn't perfect.
The build quality, or rather the quality of the components, isn't particularly high-end. Everything feels quite cheap, both the housing and the buttons. The AI model cannot be changed, but you can adjust the language, speed, and voice tone. The sound quality of the speakers is definitely sufficient for voice output, but they are rather unsuitable for music. Maybe for a little background melody, but not for really enjoying music. Another annoying thing: The glasses don't recognize whether you are speaking or someone standing next to you. This makes them worse than comparable products. As a result, the AI can only really be used effectively in quiet environments. On the upside, the recognition is very good when it captures the right person, and everything is translated or transcribed quickly and accurately.
But still: Under 90 euros is much cheaper than almost all comparable products. If you are just looking for glasses for quick snapshots or to ask the AI a few questions, these aren't a bad choice. If you can and want to invest a little more money, you might want to take a closer look at glasses like the Rokid AI Glasses.
