For around 100 euros via AliExpress, the MYVU Air is an absolute lightweight at just 43 grams. After testing it for a few weeks, it turns out: it's really comfortable to wear in everyday life. Thanks to the low weight and the large frame, you barely notice you're wearing it. It works perfectly as a static teleprompter for your smartphone. It especially shines as a pure notification device—reading out and displaying notifications works flawlessly, and it's also awesome for simply listening to music. However, if you're looking to use the glasses for navigation, you'll be disappointed; you can pretty much forget about that feature right now. That being said, the budget price is definitely noticeable in the all-plastic build and the rather flat sound. Since it lacks an accelerometer, it doesn't register head movements at all. Out of the box, this makes it simply unsuitable for true spatial applications. But this is exactly where the awesome spirit of the current developer community comes in, because the glasses just got a massive, unofficial upgrade: a clever developer reverse-engineered the system, meaning you can now build your completely own software for the device. This doesn't make the MYVU one bit better for the average end consumer, but for just under 100 euros, it transforms into an absolutely brilliant gadget for tinkerers, developers, and inventors!
